About Joshua and Family
Joshua Blick is an active leader in Southwest Wichita; he is the President of his neighborhood association and a local business owner. Joshua also passionately supports the growth and sustainability of new jobs for Wichita, and improving the quality of living for every resident in this great city. Below is a brief description from Joshua of his life and experiences.
I was born and raised in Southwest Wichita, and I have lived here most of my life. I have been blessed by God with a wonderful wife, Candace (my high school sweetheart, married for over 14 years), and two beautiful children: Abbagail (22 year old daughter) and Pierson (15 year old son). Both of my children were born right here in Wichita, and my wife was born and raised here in South Wichita.
Because of my passion for automobiles, I started putting on car shows in 2000 and I ended up partnering in 2001 with the SWNA (Southwest Neighborhood Association) to organize a car show following the SWNA annual parade. That relationship created an interest in me about the neighborhood I lived in, and soon after in 2002 I joined the SWNA. After joining the SWNA I started looking into ways to help improve the SWNA and build up my neighborhood.
Member of the Bethel Life Church,
(God said...) "He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, like the tender grass springing out of the earth, by clear shining after rain." (2 Sam 23.3b-4)

Also I am proud to say that my grandfather, father and family has been operating a successful local business for the last 40 years.

My Motivation:
In 2003, I made a commitment to myself and my family that I would start giving back to my community and looking for ways that I could make a positive impact on this city, a commitment to making Wichita a better place to live for my family. I also want my neighbors to be able to enjoy a quality of life that we all deserve here in Wichita and Sedgwick County. I love community and all that it has provided for my family. I truly believe that it takes families working together to build stronger neighborhoods; and neighborhoods and business working together to build a stronger and better city.
